Optical Coherence Tomography

Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is a non-invasive imaging test. OCT uses light waves to take cross-section pictures of the retina and optic nerve.

With OCT, Dr. Paul C. Lee can evaluate each of the retina’s distinctive layers and analyze the condition of the optic nerve. OCT can assist in making the diagnosis of retinal diseases and glaucoma. These retinal conditions include age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and diabetic retinopathy. OCT is a valuable test as a part of a screening examination, as a tool to diagnose various eye conditions, and as a part of pre- and post- surgery evaluation of the eye.
